We’ve heard your feedback. Partners like you are currently waiting days for designs to be reviewed and approved. The logjam is due to a handful of Partners uploading hundreds of designs every day. To speed up the verification process and to give unique, individual designs the ability to stand out, we are changing our upload guidelines. Read on to learn more.

Why the limit?

Our design review team is hard at work examining thousands and thousands of designs each day. A small handful of Partners are responsible for most of the uploads, commanding the attention of the entire review team. As a result, other Partners are waiting days before their new design-uploads can be cleared.

More info regarding the limit can be found in a blog post from October.

Design limit

To speed up the design review process, we will implement a limit on the number of daily design uploads:

50 designs max. per day

Partners reaching the 50 daily design limit will be notified in the upload section and will have to wait until the next day to upload more designs.

Beginning 01.02.2018

Restricting third-party designs

Spreadshirt will also be rejecting designs that come from third-party platforms, including

Pixabay

Freepik

PngTree

Openclipart

Wikimedia

AdobeStock

Fotolia

Shutterstock

123rf

Colourbox

These designs will only be allowed if they’ve been reworked prior to uploading, interpreted differently, and if Partner have valid proof that they can use the design. Spreadshirt will also reject any designs that have purely been downloaded from another source.

What would also be considered as an insufficient design?

An original, unaltered image

A minor color change

A minor transformation (including mirroring or rotation)

What this means for you

If you’re worried about your fellow users utilizing multiple accounts, we’re on it. We’ll be banning these accounts if they’re found to be violating or circumventing the rules. Of course, we will notify and warn these individuals before taking this drastic step.

Thanks to these various restrictions, you should find that designs make it to the Marketplace significantly quicker. This new verification process should ultimately help those Partners who are only uploading a handful of designs each day.

If you have any questions, please let us know in the comments below. We’ll get back to you asap.

The days of patiently waiting for your designs to be approved before you could begin selling them are gone. With our new pre-approval process, your Marketplace designs can be up and ready for sale in a matter of minutes. This is perfect for those of you out there who rely on speed to capitalize on a viral trend, or for anyone who doesn’t mind saving a few minutes of their life here and there.

This information is only relevant for US and Australian partners who registered with us after October 19th, 2016 as well as for Canadian partners who registered with us after May 30th, 2016.

Publishing your designs to the U.S., Canadian and Australian Marketplaces just got a whole lot faster. With Spreadshirt’s new pre-approval process, your designs can be up and earning in as little as 15 minutes.

What does that mean for me?

With the new pre-approval process, reacting to viral trends (or simply adding your designs to the Marketplace) is a lot faster and a lot more agile. What once was a lengthy approval process, has been cut down significantly, allowing you to get your designs up, selling and earning in no time at all.

Will my designs still be checked?

All uploaded designs must still be checked against printability guidelines, but moving forward, this process will take place after they have been published to the Marketplace—hence the “pre-approval”.

What if my pre-approved design is denied once it has been reviewed?

If your pre-approved design is denied for any reason, it will be removed from the Marketplace. You will receive the standard “your design has been denied” message on your design page in the Partner Area. You, of course, have the option at that point to adjust your design to meet the guidelines and republish it.

How long does the pre-approval process take?

With the new pre-approval process, a preview link for the uploaded design is available immediately, and you are looking at 10-15 minutes before you design is published for sale. PLEASE NOTE: Purchases cannot be made through the preview link. Products may only be purchased once the designs have been published to the Marketplace.

The new pre-approval process gives you the power to act, react, publish and earn faster than ever before! So, what are you waiting for? Get in there and start uploading designs now!

Happy with the new development? How is it working out for you and your Marketplace sales? Give us a shout in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.

With our latest release, we’ve improved the way you manage your designs and products to help save you boatloads of time and effort. Now you can adjust pricing and tags for multiple designs and determine your products’ default colors in a single step. These two new functionalities will have your designs up and ready for sale much faster than before.

Manage multiple designs

We’ve made some helpful changes in the design overview section. Perhaps you’ve already seen the little check boxes in the top-right corner of the design tiles? Check the box to bulk-select as many designs as you want to edit at once. The menu bar on top changes as soon as you select a design. You will now find the options “Keywords” and “Design Price” there. Choose one of these options to apply it to all the designs you’ve selected. It’ll save you a ton of time when adjusting the pricing or keywords of your designs.

Select product default colors

It gets even better. You can now select a default product color to display for each product group. If your Shop is centered around the color red, you can choose to represent each product group with a red product. If you feel your designs display better on white products, you now have the freedom to make that happen. Think of this function as the mannequin that stands in a store window: there are obviously more colors available inside the store; this is just the lure that gets the customers in and buying.

You will find a color icon in the bottom-right corner of each product group tile. Click on it to select the default color of the displayed product. Customers can still freely choose from the other colors offered for each product; you are merely changing the color of the product being displayed.

More exciting news

We are in the process of working out a way for you to determine the color selection for your products. The solution to one of our more frequent requests is on the horizon. Stay tuned!

These new features are designed to help you save time and effort managing your products that you can use to better your brand and marketing. Give it a go!

Have you gained first-hand experience with the new features? How do you put the time you save to good use? Please let us know in the comments.

Your designs are about to go international! Moving forward, uploading your designs to Spreadshirt will mean automatic translation and publication to multiple international platforms, giving them the exposure and sales potential they’ve always deserved.

International publishing has been long-requested by Spreadshirt Marketplace designers, and is now a reality. Here are the details:

Designs published on any of the North American/Oceanic (Australia) platforms will be translated and published in the United States, Canada (for both the English and French Canadian platforms) and Australia.

Designs published on any of the European platforms will be translated and published in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Poland, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and the UK.

Designs you publish will be examined for international suitability* by Spreadshirt, then made available for sale in all countries of your selling region.

The keywords (tags) you choose to describe your design will automatically be translated into the respective languages of the other platforms. For example, an Italian visitor on spreadshirt.it searching for a horse design in Italian (“cavallo”) will now be able to find a design that was uploaded to the Irish platform and tagged with the English word “horse”.

International publishing comes with the promise for a wider range of exposure and a greater possibility for more sales. Welcome to international e-commerce! The best part is, you don’t have to do anything extra to enjoy this benefit. All designs uploaded to the new Partner Area will automatically be published internationally.

Do you have any experience with international publishing? And what other features would you like to see introduced in the future? Please leave a comment below!

* “international suitability” refers to universal understandability of designs. Designs that are specific to a particular region, i.e. designs that include phrases in a native language, are representative of a local tradition, etc. will not be considered internationally sustainable and will not be published internationally.
