If you\u2019re not a techie, you probably don\u2019t know what an API is. Well, API stands for \u201cApplication Programming Interface\u201d and it\u2019s basically a way that one software communicates with another software.<\/p>\n<p>Spreadshirt\u2019s API is chockful of information that allows other systems to \u201ctalk\u201d to our systems and access the information they need.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re interested in that kind of stuff, the information below is for you.<\/p>\n<h2>What are we changing?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Right now, if you access a shop article or a list of shop articles via the <a href=\"http:\/\/api.spreadshirt.com\/api\/v1\/shops\/337269\/articles\/107196141\">API,<\/a>\u00a0you will find the element &#8220;price&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>This element will be GONE by end of February<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/api.spreadshirt.com\/api\/v1\/shops\/337269\/articles\/107196141\/price\">Find new prices<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Using the \/price resource will calculate the price dynamically instead of having a static and cached price<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img width=\"746\" height=\"756\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-post-13894 wp-image-13895\" src=\"https:\/\/images.spreadshop.com\/images\/w_746,h_756\/f_auto,q_auto\/v1622646424\/blog\/blog_api_screenshot\/blog_api_screenshot.jpg?_i=AA\" alt=\"blog_api_screenshot\" data-public-id=\"blog\/blog_api_screenshot.jpg\" data-format=\"jpg\" data-transformations=\"f_auto,q_auto\" data-version=\"1622646424\" srcset=\"https:\/\/images.spreadshop.com\/images\/f_auto,q_auto\/v1622646424\/blog\/blog_api_screenshot\/blog_api_screenshot.jpg?_i=AA 746w, https:\/\/images.spreadshop.com\/images\/w_600,h_608\/f_auto,q_auto\/v1622646424\/blog\/blog_api_screenshot\/blog_api_screenshot.jpg?_i=AA 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 746px) 100vw, 746px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Why are we doing this?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Whenever we change product type prices, print prices, etc. we need to update all articles in our system. This usually takes days and lowers the performance of the API.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Are we sure we want to do this?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>We have used this resource for our marketplace for quite some time and have experienced no problems with the change<\/li>\n<li>It means more calls to the API, but the resource is very fast and should not affect the user experience<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>When will it happen?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>We expect to have this resource active by February 28<sup>th<\/sup>, 2017<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are continually updating and improving our services to make Spreadshirt bigger, better and faster for both customers and business partners alike.
