If your Shop loads slowly when you link to it from social media, you might be using an old URL structure. Here’s what you can do to fix it.

In 2018, we taught you how to improve the URL format for your Shop. Here’s a little refresher…

If you’ve been a part of the Spreadshop community for at least five years, you’ll remember the old structure used to look like NAME.spreadshirt.co.uk (for UK) or NAME.spreadshirt.com (for US).

This old format can still be used, but automatically redirects to the new URL format: shop.spreadshirt.co.uk/NAME (for UK) or shop.spreadshirt.com/NAME (for US). After January 1st, 2021, the old URL format will no longer be automatically redirected.

Why URL structure matters

Having the most current URL structure is important, because it allows your customers to get to your Shop faster. If you’re still linking to your Shop with the old URL structure, you’ll want to start using the new one: http://shop.spreadshirt.com/NAME

Important update

The previous Shop URL structure looked like: https://spreadshop.spreadshirt.com. This URL structure will no longer work after January 1st, 2021.

Instead, you should start using the new structure: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/SpreadShop/ .

You should update your Shop links on Facebook, Instagram, blogs, etc, before January 1st, 2021.
