Spreadshop is here, and it’s time you get involved! If you’ve been looking to monetize your brand and receive the necessary guidance during that process, then you’ve come to the right place. Spreadshop essentially lets you open your own online merchandizing store, providing a unique opportunity for those looking to own their own business without the risks. Whether you’re selling one or 1,000 shirts each day, Spreadshop can handle your demands. Learn here what the difference of Spreadshop vs Spreadshirt is.
What Spreadshop Can Do for You
Spreadshop is THE brand and platform for your merchandizing ideas. With our new Spreadshop homepage, we can better focus on you and your needs as a Shop owner. Spreadshop doesn’t only offer top-notch features for your merchandising shop; it’s also a place where you can find information on products and resources to make your Shop a success. Spreadshop also has its own social media channels (including a Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram account) where you can stay up to date on all things related to your Shop.

Where Does Spreadshirt Come into Play?
Spreadshirt invented Spreadshop. Spreadshirt is an end-customer platform that caters to Marketplace Designers and the needs of customers who are buying products with printed designs. Since we still use the technical infrastructure provided by Spreadshirt, Spreadshop is powered by “the mother ship.” However, with Spreadshop, we now have a hub that fully focuses on your needs as a Shop owner.
Get Ready for the Future of Spreadshop
For starters, you’re going to find that Spreadshop truly becomes its own entity (as opposed to always being associated with Spreadshirt). We’ve launched the Spreadshop brand in the United States, and we’ll expand it globally throughout the next few years. Spreadshop will soon have increased visibility in the partner area, our blog, our forum, the FAQ section, and our newsletters.
In other words, you’ll soon be seeing the Spreadshop logo whenever we’re talking to you as a Shop owner.

both sites are a mess, cant actually even search anything, spreadshop says h20 delerious has stuff on there, cant even find a search button to find it. go to spreadshirt and when I search there, it says not found. not sure what numb skull designed these sites but this whole thing just does not work. cant search anything on spreadshop and cant find what Im looking for on spreadshirt. totally worthless site dont bother.
It seems next to impossible to design something simple in Spreadshirt and then be able to save and upload it to Spreadshop or marketplace for sale which is a pretty fundamental flaw in the whole thing right? Is there a way to do it or are you not meant to be able to sell your designs?
i want to be sure about everything plz let me know thanks.

HI THERE,
I’m new on spreadshirt and my designs are mostly in English but as a French I use French language as well. As I’m not living in France I wonder if my designs are visible for the French audience ? Would a spreadshop specialised in French be a good option ?
Hello everyone, I have a spreadshop store as well but I can’t edit texts on design especially after uploading a design on setting (left panel there is a tool which activated offers access for a customer to customize a product when wants to buy it, but for me as admin there no tool for me to add texts(maybe haven’t figured it out) Please assist on this.
Hi there. I’ve ran into a problem as I upload designs in my spreadshop as well as in my spreadsheet showroom. But after being uploaded there’s nothing to show in my showroom. So I just moved into settings of my spreadshop there was written “In Review” down below the “Spreadshirt” option. On the other hand there was written “Published” just down below the “Spreadshop” option. Why is this happening to me? Why there’s no products in my showroom? Why is it showing “In Review”? Please answer me.
Are you still experiencing this problem? Did you ever get a response? This just happened to me today for the first time.
What makes more money? The Marketplace or the Spreadshop?
Saying “it depends” is probably not the answer you’re looking for. BUT… it depends. Spreadshop is going to be better for people who want to control their pricing and earn more per product selling direct to an audience you already have. But Spreadshirt Marketplace might work better for a designer or entrepreneur who is just looking to sell random tagged designs. But the approval process might be tighter…. the winner in our eyes? SPREADSHOP… but we might be bias. 😉
Where are the comments and I didn’t say it someone else did.
Where are the comments
Hello,
I noticed that sexual graphics are not allowed in Spreadshirt; is the same rule applies to Spreadshop ? Thanks
Yes, for detailed questions please refer to legal@spreadshirt.net
Thanks,
Lena
Why can’t i set the design price on spreadshirt ?

In my SpreadShop, (which I have not opened yet but uploaded designs already) I found out that I can make Topics. Am I right in thinking that Topics can be considered as niches so that I can have Topics for careers, quotes, and vintage designs?
Hi Philip,
yes topics can be considered as niches. Show the whole range of your designs with Topics. This doesn’t only give your Shop a more clear-cut look, but also allows you to advertise several products at once through your social media channels. Your topics can be set up in Page Settings > Topics. The order of your designs can be changed in Page Settings > Product List Page > Arrange Items.
Can i put the same design on my spreadshop’s shop and spreadshirt’s marketplace from the same account.
Absolutely!
In the MarketPlace, is there a way to just add text to a shirt as opposed to uploading a design?
No, there isn’t. You can just add some additional text. You also need to upload a design on every product.
To be clear, we CAN use both Spreadshop & Spreadshirt? I just went live with Spreadshirt, would I have to add each item to Spreadshop to launch there? Is there a way to duplicate the shop? Please clarify. Thank you
Of course, you can publish to both Spreadshirt and Spreadshop with just a click in your partner area 🙂 No need to duplicate anything!
Trying to choose services to open online t-shirt store, but with all the different choices, it’s like comparing apples to monkeys. Please let me know the following:
1) Does using Spreadshop essentially take the place of using an ecommerce platform in the formula of POD/ecommerce platform? …..so, using Spreadshop for a storefront will give me a storefront and POD service already connected by Spreadshop using Sreadshirt for POD fufillment…
2) Does Spreadshop charge any fees for a merch shop, i.e., Monthly Site Fees; percentage on sales made, ANY fees….
2) Any other monies added on, not related to Spreadshop, i.e., VAT charges, etc.
3) VAT charge: is that a tax processed by Spreadshop to the Government, so I pay that to you and I also collect sales tax where applicable.
4) Final Product: Is there a sales tax in Spreadshop’s originating state AND sales tax in the Customer’s state?
5) I need to know the entire cost for the end-user, my Customer. Please show an example of costs using Spreadshop’s POD for a $20.00 t-shirt.
Thank you.
Hi Joe,
1. Exactly, using Spreadshop will give you a front and back-end. You can view example shops here: https://www.spreadshop.com/blog/tag/shop-of-the-month/ or here: https://shop.spreadshirt.com/SpreadShop/
2. Nope, the service is totally free. No monthly charges. You receive money from us once you’ve made your first sale. You can read more on the commission model here: https://help.spreadshop.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011076040-Earning-money-as-a-Shop-Owner
3.) + 4) We do not have VAT, so I am not sure what you mean. Taxation and sales tax are different. For 4 there is a Sales Tax applied at checkout to the customer which is based on where the order is shipping to, so it will incude Sales Tax based on the delivery address and the Sales Tax laws of that state. If you fill out the W9 and submit it, then you would not have taxes withheld from your earnings, but this is a different tax than sales tax. For non-US shop owners, it depends strictly on the country and tax treaties with the US if taxes are still deducted after receiving their W8 form or not. More info on taxes can be found here: https://www.spreadshop.com/blog/2017/11/15/spreadshirt-taxes-everything-need-know/
5.) A men’s short has a base price of 13.99. If you want to sell it for 20.00, then you would make 6$ out of every sale. All base prices can be viewed here: https://help.spreadshop.com/hc/en-us/articles/360011203179-Base-Price-and-Performance-Bonus
Hope this helps.
Let me know if you have any additional questions 🙂
Best,
Lena
So if we open our original account through spreadshop, will our designs appear in the spreadshirt marketplace as well?
Hi Abby,
They will only appear in the Marketplace if you activley push the “publish to Marketplace” button. They won’t be automatically on the Marketplace 🙂
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Best,
Lena
What you’ve done is needlessly confusing. You’re basically saying “it’s different but the same.” Why would I want to go through the hassle of creating products in the SpreadShirt store, only to realize that your company has decided to put energies into the SpreadShop project and now I need to duplicate my portfolio of items into SpreadShop in order to take advantage of your new focus on SpreadShop?
No need to duplicate anything. Both your products for your Spreadshop and for the Spreadshirt Marketplace can be published within seconds 🙂
I agree, this is clear as mud and I came here to find out which to choose from. Still do not know.
Marketplace = Spreadshirt = Showroom on the spreadshirt Page = we do the marketing for you and you upload designs with products
Own Merch Shop = Spreadshop = Own Shop where you need to take care of your own marketing = you therefore also receive a higher commission.
Are there still any other questions? 🙂
If I decide to sell t-shirts and other stuff using this company,
1) Do I have to sell the products on both spreadshirt and spreadshop? 2) Can I just use either spreadshirt or spreadshop?
3) If I just decide to use only Spreadshop are there any costs I have to pay for, such as fees, taxes, VAT, shipping?
Hi Wahid,
1) Do I have to sell the products on both spreadshirt and spreadshop? – No you can choose your sales channels. You can choose both or either 🙂
2) Can I just use either spreadshirt or spreadshop? – Yes, you can choose either Spreadshirt Marketplace or a merch shop with Spreadshop
3) If I just decide to use only Spreadshop are there any costs I have to pay for, such as fees, taxes, VAT, shipping? – No you don’t have to pay us anything. VAT will be deducted automatically. When it comes to Taxes that will depend how much you earn. Best is then to eventually check with a tax advisor.
Do many people run and generate a good enough income for it to be their full time business do you know please.
Yes, if you put enough time and effort into your business and you’ve hit a nice niche market or a marketing pro then indeed we have shop owners who are running a fulltime business with our service 🙂
If starting a new shop should we go to spreadshirt or spreadshop & is the POD, payment, shipping & customer service the same.
Hi Dennis,
Spreadshop is powederd by Spreadshirt. It’s one and the same company 🙂
You can see the difference here: https://www.spreadshirt.com/start-selling-shirts-C3598
Mermaid for Marketplace, Orange for your own Merch Shop/T-Shirt Store (Spreadshop). From what it sounds you should open your own Merch Shop.
In both cases we take care of printing, shipping and customer service!
Hope this helps,
Lena
how do i join?
By clicking on “Open a Spreadshop” here: https://www.spreadshop.com/
So it’s just a new name for what already exists with additional features? BTW, I first throught it said sweatshop. 😉
It’s just the new brand behind the existing Shop as you’ve known it. No major changes for you, just more visibility whenever we are talking to you as a shop owner 🙂
So, if I change over to a spreadshop, what happens to my spreadshirt online store?
Your Spreadshirt Shop and your Spreadshop are one and the same thing. No need to change anything 🙂
Spreadshop is just the brand we created to cater better to your needs as a Shop Owner.
Why do not I see my design in the designs sold here
Hi Sara,
Can you please write an e-mail to partner@spreadshirt.com? Thanks!
So what exactly is changing?
Not much. Just a brand that can specifically cater to the needs of you as a shop owner. Spreadshop also allows for a clearer separation between Marketplace Designers and Shop Owners.
Hi, I know I’m on spreadshirt market place. Want to make sure I ‘m on my own personal shop also. Please advise if their anything or else I must do on my end to get my products moving.
No worries – there’s nothing you need to do. Spreadshop is now just the sub-brand behind your Shop.
