Track Orders on Pinterest for Shop Success

Using Pinterest to promote your products is a wonderful thing. Next to giving you a whole lot of exposure, you can also track how Pinterest posts lead to sales in your Spreadshop. Check it out!

Before we get technical: How exactly does Pinterest work?

Pinterest is about community. People follow boards and other users. The opportunity to interact with what you offer and share it with others offers great potential to enlarge your target group. What’s more, Pinterest boards aren’t just lists – they show people’s dreams and aspirations. Having your Spreadshop engage in a meaningful way with the driving spirit of Pinterest is priceless.

Why is Pinterest tracking good for my Spreadshop?

As a marketing tool, “Pinteresting” means major views and traction for your Spreadshop. Until now you could not see how your Pinterest Pins lead to shop sales or potential sales. This has now changed! The data you’ll receive will offer you a great insights that you can use to optimize your Pinterest Pins.

How can I create a Pinterest Tag?

Creating a Pinterest Tag is the first step to connecting your Pinterest Pins with your Spreadshop:

  1. Log in to your Pinterest business account and go to the Conversions page in Ads Manager
  2. Click Create Pinterest Tag
  3. Click the name of your Pinterest tag to copy the base code including your unique tag ID

More details can be found here.

What do I need to do in the Partner Area?

You can add a Pinterest Tag in the Partner Area to set up a connection between Pinterest and your Spreadhop. The feature can be found in Shop Settings > Marketing > Web Analytics > Pinterest Tag ID.  The Pinterest tag (basically a piece of JavaScript code) helps generate information on conversion rates to target an audience based on correlated sales. If you’re interested in the details, you’ll find a description of how that works here.

What’s the next step?

Learning about your customers behavior means being able to increase your sales. Once you have found out which of your Pinterest Pins have contributed to Spreadshop sales, you know what kind of products and designs have attracted interest and can streamline future Pins accordingly.
